MOUNT CARMEL - Edward Joseph "Cookie" Ososkie, 85, of 520 W. Seventh St., died unexpectedly at home Thursday, April 26, 2018.
He was born in Ashland, April 4, 1933, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Pranckaitis) Ososkie.
He attended Holy Cross grade school and was a 1951 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
He was employed as a police office for Mount Carmel Borough and served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
He was a former member of Holy Cross Church and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He was a member of the Eagles, American Hose Company and Atlas Legion.
He was an avid New York Yankees, Notre Dame and New York Giants fan. He will also be missed by his three buddies, Bronx, Bomber and Stella.
Survivors include his former wife, Jean Ososkie; two sons, Edward M. Ososkie and Scott E. Ososkie, both of Mount Carmel; two daughters, Kelly Agnello and her husband, Joseph, of Stroudsburg, and Patricia Rovito and her husband, Michael, of Catawissa; six grandsons, Ed Ososkie and his wife, Dana, of Trevorton, Mark Ososkie, of Mount Carmel, Shane Osokie and his fiancé, Nicole, of Philadelphia, Brett Ososkie, of Mount Carmel, Joseph Agnello, of Stroudsburg, and Michael Rovito and his wife, Kathy, of Florida; four granddaughters, Tara Wise and her husband, Tom, of Catawissa, Kerri Spears and her husband, Gary, of Mount Carmel, Molly Agnello, of Stroudsburg, and Hannah Chapman, of Mount Carmel; four great grandsons, Carson Ososkie, Cole Spears, Ty Spears and Blake Wise; three great granddaughters, Harper Ososkie, Mya Wise and Aria Rovito, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel with Reverend Joan Brown, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday morning in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program - F, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Eddie , Patty and Family sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.From an early age on he was always ready to greet me with a how is it going Cuz and a big smile and a wink.On the street or in the Hosie he was always fun and had a story to tell. His personalty and way made Mt Carmel a better place with him in uniform or around town. he had a full life God Bless him He is home.
