HUMMELS WHARF — Jesse James Snyder, 46, of Hummels Wharf, passed away at 7:09 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading, where he was taken after being suddenly stricken ill.
He was born July 28, 1970, in Lewisburg, a son of James A. Snyder, of Hummels Wharf, and the late Peggy Ann (Roush) Snyder.
Jesse was a 1988 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
He had been employed by Becker Volkswagen, J & S Used Cars and had operated Speedway Motors in Northumberland.
Jesse was a member of the Americus Hose Company, in Sunbury.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, going to casinos and traveling. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, sprint cars and the Selinsgrove Speedway. He was a personal friend of race car legend, Sterling Martin, and had loved his convertibles.
Jesse was an organ donor and gave the gift of life.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Angelia Snyder, of Northumberland; his long time companion, Mary Catherine Devine; two aunts, Joanne Ney and Shirley Snyder; and numerous cousins, including a very special cousin, Robert "Bobby" Snyder.

Contributions to honor Jesse's memory may be made to Victory Junction, a camp for disabled children, 4500 Adams Way, Randelman, NC 27317. Services are provided by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
