John Labota Obituary

DEN-MAR GARDENS — John J. Labota, 58, of 136 Arizona Drive, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014.

He was born June 5, 1956, in Shamokin, a son of the late John A. and Rose Marie (Darrup) Labota.

He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army.

On Oct. 25, 1977, in St. Ignatius Church, Centralia, he married Wendy (Getty) Labota, who survives.

John was employed as a federal mine inspector for the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel.

John loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and attend car shows, and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Most of all, John loved and cherished all of his family and his schnauzers.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by a daughter, Jaimee Labota-Keiser and her husband, Christopher, of Kulpmont; a son, Jason Labota and his companion, Melissa Jeremiah, of Gilberton; two grandsons, Collin Keiser and Gavin Taylor; three sisters, Kathy Wysochansky and her husband, Ronald, of Den-Mar Gardens, Dolores Frantz and her husband, Jerry, of Mount Carmel, and Roseann Yuschock, of Mount Carmel; his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and two faithful pet schnauzers, Thunder and Stormie.

LABOTA — John J. Labota, 58, of 136 Arizona Drive, Den-Mar Gardens. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor, with the Rev. Joan A. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Schnauzer Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic, c/o 136 Arizona Drive, Kulpmont 17834.
