PAXINOS - John Maschuck Jr., 83, of Paxinos, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
John was born in Upper Sagon, July 7, 1938, a son of the late Helen (Paskanik) and John Maschuck Sr.
John was a graduate of Coal Township High School, Class of 1956, and N.J. Vo-Tech.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
For more than 60 years he was the husband of Eilene J. (McCabe) Maschuck, his lifetime sweetheart. They were married Feb. 18, 1961.
He was of the Ukranian Catholic faith.
John worked as maintenance machinist for GM/Delco Remy for most of his career.
He enjoyed golfing at Three Ponds Golf Course, hunting, fishing and making pisanki eggs.
His greatest pride was his loving family he raised.
In addition to his wife, Eilene, John is survived by four brothers, Michael Mascuch, husband of Donna, of Lancaster, Andrew Maschuck, of Trevorton, Paul Maschuck and his companion, Cathy Bainbridge, of Excelsior, and Dennis Maschuck, of Elysburg; a sister, Lorraine Snyder, wife of George, of Catawissa; three daughters, Marina Maschuck, wife of Yukiko, of Seattle, Jill Hower, wife of Craig, of Montoursville, and Jolene Smith and her husband, Roger, of Chester County; and seven grandchildren, Devan, Tyler, Brock, Sydney, Kai, Kuka and Xander. John's dog, Molly, will also miss him.
MASCHUCK - John Maschuck Jr., 83, of Paxinos. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Rothermel-Heizenroth-Clark Funeral Home, 387 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mykola Ivanov officiating. Burial with military honors will take place following the service at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John's memory to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville 17901, or Elysburg Fire Co. 1 and Ambulance Station 170, 1 E. Mill St., Elysburg 17824.
