Timothy Snyder Obituary

ELYSBURG — Timothy M. Snyder, 48, of 409 W. Valley Ave., passed away at 12:57 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, after a 10 1/2-year courageous battle from a tragic car accident. He passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Shamokin, Jan. 25, 1963, he was a son of the late Merlin and Jacqueline (Gallagher) Snyder.

He was a 1980 Shamokin Area High School graduate and had attended Lock Haven University.

On July 16, 1983, he married the former C. Lynn Luberecki, who survives.

He worked construction, last working for MSI, Shamokin Dam.

Tim coached Ralpho Raiders midget football for 10 years before becoming an assistant football coach for Southern Columbia Area High School for five years until the time of his accident. He also was an assistant coach for Southern's high school track team and elementary wrestling team. He coached softball and T-Ball for Ralpho Youth Sports, of which he was a former president.

He was chosen in 1994 as Citizen of the Year by the All Home Days Association.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two children, Brenna Lawrence and her husband, Nathan, Stonington, and Colby Snyder, Bloomsburg, and a grandson, Landon N. Lawrence.

SNYDER — Timothy M. Snyder, 48, of 409 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg. A memorial service will be held at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ray W. Rothermel Funeral Home, Elysburg, Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130.
