FRANK LONNIE KEPPEL

Age: 75 • Staunton, VA

Frank Lonnie Keppel, 75, widower of Mary Louise (Linthicum) Morgan, of 632 Essex Drive, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at his residence.

He was born April 28, 1942, in Alexandria, a son of the late Frank (John) and Dorothy (Allen) Keppel.

Mr. Keppel was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

He was an avid coin collector and race car driver.

Family members include a son, Lonnie M. Keppel of Manassas; two daughters, Angela M. Lyman of Staunton and Katherine D. Murphy of Vienna; two brothers, Kenneth Charles Keppel of Alabama and James David Keppel of New York; three grandchildren, Morgan Marie Blackburn, Sarah Emily Lyman, Robert James Murphy; and a great grandchild, Daniel Morgan Taylor.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017, in Thornrose Cemetery by the Rev. Kenneth Keppel. Military rites will be conducted by  Augusta Staunton VFW Post 2216

There will no public viewing or visitation.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
