We knew Ann and Dan back in the mid--to-late 1970s. We were neighbors on Grenac Road and also worked for a time at what was then the Fairbanks Environmental Center. Ann and the Swift family were so warm and welcoming to a couple of Alaska newbies back in 1974. We have many fond memories of our visits at your house, and we always had great admiration and affection for Ann. We are sorry for your loss, but it should be a small measure of comfort to know of the impact Ann had in the Fairbanks community. We wish you the best going forward.

Dear Sarah and Steve,
While I did not know Ann personally, her community activism was well known and respected. A true pioneer.
May her family, the people she touched and the community programs she inspired and supported be her legacy.
Wishing you both my sincere condolences.

Meli and I offer our condolences. A true testament to Ann are all the wonderful family and friends she had, and all the great organizations she worked for and helped to create. May we all follow her example.

Ann was indeed a very special person. She lived her values with calm graciousness and generosity.
Because she was involved in so many good services, I was lucky to see her in various roles, though primarily Chena Ridge Friends and when she helped with Alaska Peace Center newsletter.
We hold you in the light, Dan and family.

I met Ann in the 1970s while she worked as a free lance editor for the School of Agriculture UAF. But her biggest impact on my life was one of the most generous and helpful volunteer "worker bees" at the Georgeson Botanical Garden. At first glance she appeared willowy and frail, but that was quickly dispelled when she took on a task and left a lot of far younger folks in the dust. Always smiling, always pleasant, always generous with a kind word and much encouragement. A true garden angel! My condolences to Dan, their daughters and family.

Awww Ann. I thank you again for your sweet fun spirit through my 16 years at Hospice. You were a gentle and fun-loving soul. My condolences to the family. She was a GEM. I now live in Utah but have fond memories of her at the front desk of hospice and her laughter.
