Our beloved Bobbie Darlene Snyder, 44, passed away at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital on Aug. 19, 2009, after a long illness.
Bobbie was born in Fairbanks on June 15, 1965, to Martin and Patricia Snyder and spent her entire life here. The second oldest of five siblings, Bobbie was a very independent child.
Bobbie became a mother at an early age when she gave birth to her first child in September 1982. She later had three more children to complete her family.
Bobbie was a very high spirited and strong willed woman. She lived life her own way and loved every minute of it.
Then on June 9, 2006, the first of her five grandchildren was born and Bobbie became "Mema," the name her grandchildren called her, and life changed dramatically for her.
Bobbie beamed with happiness at the birth of her grandchildren. She was so proud of those children and so proud to be called Mema (Grandma), all she talked about was her grandchildren and her children. Bobbie will be sorely missed by those that knew and loved her. Â
Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia E. Snyder; two sets of grandparents, Robert and Wilma Swarthout and Jack and Rose Snyder; and her aunt, Michelle Swarthout.
She is survived by her sons, Billy M. Snyder and Aaron J. Snyder; her daughters, Tamara K. Snyder and Trish Snyder; her brother, Billy J. Snyder; her sister-in-law, Jerri L. Snyder; her sister, Jerri S. Snyder; her sister, Pammi D. Hays; her brother-in-law, Matt Hays; her brother, Robert Snyder; her sister-in-law, Laura Snyder; her father, Marty Snyder and his companion, Lu Johnson; her significant other, Gail Woodall; her greatly loved grandchildren, Taliyah, Ilanna, Tahj, Kieara and Jerard; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral will be held for Bobbie at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28, at Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.

What a great loss. I knew Bobbie growing up,she went to school with my older brothers and then lived with one brother for some time. My prayers go out to her children and grandchildren. She will be missed.
