Bud Reichmuth Obituary

Bud (Raymond, aka Raimundo ) Reichmuth passed away April 17 in Fairbanks at the age of 73 with his wife, Cindy, by his side.

He was born in Fallbrook, California in 1950. As a young man he ventured out to see the world beyond his hometown of Glendora, California. He traveled throughout Canada and whetted his appetite for more adventures.

Bud and his wife Cindy, lived and worked in British Columbia before coming to Alaska in 1975. They settled in Fairbanks, where he worked as a carpenter for several construction and roofing companies.

In 2009 he went back to school at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Tanana Valley Campus, earning a certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness in a fast track program that he excelled in, completing a two-year course in one year with a 4.0 GPA. Winters they were off to new adventures all over Latin America and they found their piece of paradise in Trancoso, Bahia, Brazil.

Bud is survived by his wife Cindy, his loving dog Lucy, his mother, siblings, many cousins and many, many friends from around the world.

Cindy's family will have a celebration of life for him in September in Roseville, California.

There will also be a large, festive nighttime celebration of life in his beloved Trancoso, with the spreading of his ashes on the beach at sunrise.

Known for his harmonica playing, his openness and acceptance of anyone, his generosity, infectious smile and sparkling blue eyes, his joking ways and his quest seeking spiritual enlightenment, Bud had a big impact on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by his many friends and family around the world.

I loved this man. I cannot remember a time he did not put a smile on my face, even when he was serious, he never hid his vulnerabily and was always genuine. You will be missed.

Cindy,
You and Bud have been our friends for decades and we will miss him. Bud was always a pleasant person to be around...happy, funny, easy-going. I can´t count the number of times he was in our garage with Lloyd trying to figure out what was wrong with those darn vehicles! And the dogs..if it wasn´t for the pups none of us would ever have met. You know we are always here for you. You and the rest of Buds family are in our prayers. Bud is pleased to know he´s going back to Brazil! Rest in peace Bud, until we all meet again.

Dear Cindy, you have our deepest sympathy at this time of grieving your dear Bud. In his honor we will donate to a special organization here in Tiffin called F.A.C.T. / Financial Aid for Cancer Treatment. They were a wonderful support to our Greg during his years of dealing with Cancer.
