I worked as an Aircraft Dispatcher for Interior Airways, Pacific Alaska, AIA, and others and knew Jorgy well. He was one of the best pilots in Alaska. He is a Genuine LEGEND.

My condolences go out to the Jorgensen family. I've known Jorgy for over 50 treats and he was a wonderful person and an excellent pilot. I really enjoyed his stories about flying in Alaska. He sure will be missed.

I first met Jorgy in 1959 when he and George Thiel were flying C46s for Wien Airways out of Nome, AK. I was introduced to Jorgy by Bert Beltz Sr of Haycock and we became friends. Jorgy was certainly a good man to have on your side as he would sternly stand up for what he believed was right. We crossed paths in many different places in Alaska throughout the years and it was always a joy to see him again. Rest in peace my friend.

My husband, Clint Schoenleber, met Jorgy during their years when both flew with Interior Airways. They had a lot of mutual friends and, after moving out-of-state, whenever Clint went back to Fairbanks he would often visit Jorgy, together with Charlie Laraux and Bub Hallett. He really enjoyed Jorgy's stories and continued to keep in contact with him from our home in Port Townsend. Clint talked to him about a week before Jorgy passed away and he was very saddened to learn that Jorgy died a few days later. Clint had a great deal of admiration and respect for Jorgy. We visited Anchorage for a few days in 2019 and stopped by the museum at the airport there to "visit" all the pilots Clint knew throughout his career. Jorgy had many photos and accolades to be proud of. He was quite "the man." We send our sympathy and love to all of Jorgy's family, along with the knowledge that Jorgy did so much for others. He was a treasured friend of so many. May his memory always be in your hearts.

Sorry to hear that he has flown on to a higher field. . .I remember him as someone my dad knew in the late '40s. (Undoubtedly from work, but I was too small to know such details then. I just knew that he was big and friendly, and I liked him.)

It was my honor to call this gentleman my friend. We all share in your loss.

Roberta-"a Father's love is reflected in the eyes of his children". So true! We will pray for a time of peace for your family during this time. Hearing your stories about your DAD, I am sure he would not want anyone to be sad. What a cool guy.
