Jeffrey Erickson Obituary
Jeff was born on Oct. 29, 1961, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He spent his childhood farming and starting his interest in mechanics. He moved to Delta Junction, Alaska, shortly after completing his education to work on the barley farming project. In Delta, he met his wife of nearly 40 years, Arlene. They had three children and enjoyed spending their free time RVing and being outdoors around Alaska. In 2014, he retired from IUOE Local 302 where he had been a skilled heavy duty mechanic working many locations all over the Interior of Alaska. He was truly a Jack of all trades and could fix nearly anything. He enjoyed traveling with Arlene to warmer locations in the winter, tinkering on projects in his workshop and spending time spoiling his grandson, Anderson.
Jeff is survived by hid daughters, Amanda Staelens (Ren and family) and Shayla Erickson (Lester and family); son, David Erickson; sister, Jane Schaumburg and family in Thief River Falls, Minnesota; brother, Jason Erickson and family in Newfolden, Minnesota; and other extended family members across Minnesota and Alaska. Jeff was preceded in death by his loving wife, Arlene, and his parents, Milton and Beverly Erickson.

As a friend and supporter of my Iditarod and Yukon Quest Race Sled Dog Team. Jeff could fix anything from the dog sled and dog truck or tinkering with the dog gear that improves the sled dogs performance.

My heart is saddened hearing of Jeff's passing. Lord knows we spent way to much time of our lives working at PS9 & 10. But good times were spent at Birch lake in the summer month's boating eating and drinking beer. You will be missed my friend.....Ron Hall
