Nicholas Baker Obituary

Nicholas (Nick) Baker, 46, left this world too soon on Jan. 5, 2025. Nick was born April 13, 1978, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to parents Lon and Virginia Baker. He grew up and lived in the Badger Road area and graduated from North Pole High School in 1997.

Nick's first love was his family and friends. He loved a good bonfire, camping, fishing, riding four-wheelers and snowmachines. He also loved working on cars and equipment.

Nick had a generous heart, loved helping others and was always available if someone needed him. Even in his passing, Nick left the world making a difference by giving someone else the gift of sight.

Alaska was Nick's home, and he will be greatly missed by many in the Fairbanks community and beyond.

Nick leaves behind his parents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be determined at a later date.

To singing with him in kindergarten choir, running around church lots, driving 4-wheelers, fishing, and weddings; I was meeting up with Nick in all stages of life. He could do it all, true Interior Alaskan. One of the best examples of kindness. You are missed and it is difficult bro.

Nick was one of my good friends from way back. I recently saw him at the DMV when my daughter was getting her license. His son was getting his. The teens were close in age. I am so glad I saw him there and we had a nice chat. Of course I did not know it would be the last time. He had the best smile that was always present. I know he will be missed by many friends and family. Photo is from 2003 at the Salmon Bake.

Nick was quite a good piano player. I remember him driving me to Anchorage and he was something of a daredevil. Goofing around with him and Max is a cherished memory.
