Anne Fajgenbaum Obituary

Anne Marie Fajgenbaum passed away on October 26, 2004, surrounded by the people she cared for and loved most: her husband, David, daughters, Lisa and Gena, and son, David.
Anne Marie fought a courageous battle with brain cancer and was an example for everyone to follow. Her faith and love carried her through this journey.
Anne Marie was born in Trinidad, West Indies, in 1952. Daughter of Patrick and Grace Fitzwilliam, she came to America with her husband, David, in 1973. She settled with her young family in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1980 and has since called Raleigh her home. Her loving and caring disposition has touched everyone that she has encountered. She has been the Class Mother, Football Mother, and second "mother" to so many young people who have loved and respected her.
Anne Marie is survived by her husband, Dr. David M. Fajgenbaum, daughters, Lisa and Gena, son, David, parents, Patrick and Grace Fitzwilliam, sisters, Jean and Tricia, and brothers, Ian and Allan.
The Fajgenbaum family would like to thank the physicians, healthcare workers, friends, patients, and extended family, all of whom gave of their time, food, love, and prayers over the last year. Without your support, we could not have made it through this difficult time.
There will be a Funeral Mass to celebrate Anne Marie at St. Raphael's Church, Falls of the Neuse Road, Raleigh, at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 29. The family will receive visitors in the Atrium of the church beginning at 10 a.m. The interment of her ashes will follow the church service at St. Raphael's Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, Anne Marie would like you to consider a donation to The Brain Tumor Society (www.tbts.org) and/or The National Brain Tumor Foundation (www.braintumor.org). Please visit their respective Web sites to make a donation and to learn more about what you can do to fight brain cancer. Also, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
