Charles Denton Obituary
After a battle with cancer he died peacefully at home with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Katharine H. Denton (known as Ma D).
He leaves a sister, Kathy Denton Caswell; brother, Fred L. Denton; son, Freeman L. Denton; two daughters, Jesi Knowles-Brock and Holly Knowles; one grandson, Brennon Knowles.
The body was donated to the Brody School of Medicine at the University of East Carolina for medical research.
The family ask if you wish to do anything to make a donations in Charles's name to either of the following: The Brody School of Medicine - Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology - East 5th St. Greenville, NC 27858 - Attn: Dr. John Powers or Hospice of Wake County - 1300 St. Mary's Street - Fourth Floor - Raleigh, NC 27605.

Fred, Kathy, and family,
I was just made aware of your loss and send my deepest condolences. There are so many stories and memories as I, like so many others spent a great deal of my time while growing up at the Denton household being taken care of by my 2nd mom, Ms. D. Fred and Charlie are both like brothers to me and it goes without saying this is a great loss to many. Being a year behind, Charlie was really like a big brother to me when I went off to ECU.
You all are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Fred, please don't hesitate to call if you need anything. It has been a while and I'd love to catch up with you.

I've been trying to locate Charlie on the internet for the past couple years. I haven't seen Chuck in about 30 years. Makes me very sad that when I did find him it was like this. Best wishes to Kathy, Freddie and the rest of the family.

Dear Kathy and Fred,
I am truly heartbroken to hear of Charlie's illness and passing. Please know that I am thinking of you and keeping you all in my prayers. Take very good care of each other and know that I have wonderful memories of Charlie. He was a sweet and gentle soul who helped me through some difficult growing pains as a little kid.
