Daphne Venables Obituary
Mechanicsville, VA
Daphne Davis Venables, 89, of Mechanicsville, originally of Conway, NC, went to be with her Lord Saturday, July 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James R. Venables, and is survived by her son, Ronald C. Lynch and Wife Frances, of Voorhees, NJ; niece, Denise and Husband Robert Ray Allen of Conway, NC and their Family, Nephew Randall Smith and Wife Linda of Allenhurst, GA and their Family as well as Maureen Smith and James Venables and their Families in the UK. Mrs. Venables and her husband enjoyed traveling abroad, bowling, were award winning Ballroom and Swing Dancers as well as Life Members of Caesar's Casino. She was a USO Hostess and a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd, with services beginning at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2016 at Conway Cemetery, Conway, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Conway UMC, Conway, NC 27820, Shady Grove UMC, P.O. Box 817, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 or your favorite charity.

Ronald, I am so sorry to have just now found out about your mother's passing. My mother, Betty Rogers, always considered Daphne to be her best friend. I know they always called each other on their birthdays and several other times during the year. Daphne was such a wonderful Southern lady who was a ray of sunshine and loving joy. She will be greatly missed by my mother, father and myself but she will never be forgotten.
