David Jackson Obituary

David Rhudy Jackson, 70, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 4, 2008.
Born on December 20,1937 in Max Meadow, VA; he was the son of the late David C. Jackson and Elsie Atwell Jackson.
David retired after 36 years of experience with Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, attaining the position of Vice President of Sales - a position that gave him the privilege of traveling all over the world. He was a member of Benson Memorial United Methodist Church and a Mason and Shriner. He was a co-developer of the Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN) program in Wake County. He had a passion for cars and truly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor Cummings Jackson; son, Mark David Jackson and wife, Brandi, of Portsmouth, VA; daughter, Angelis Jackson Clary and husband, Kerry, of Gasburg, VA; grandchildren, Noah, Owen and Chandler Jackson and Hunter, Hannah and Parker Clary; siblings, Ralph Jackson and wife Cathy, of Seven Mile Ford, VA, Mary Lee Morris and husband, James, of Roanoke, VA and Jane Jackson, of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Benson Memorial United Methodist Church, with entombment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benson Memorial United Methodist Church -Jackson Memorial Fund - 4706 Creedmoor Road - Raleigh, NC 27612.
