David Orr Obituary
Wendell
David Lee Orr, 77, of 649 Timber Drive, passed away early Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Hospice House surrounded by his family. Lee was born in Mecklenburg County on August 9, 1935 to the Late David R. Orr and Mary Belle Lee Orr. Until retirement, he was a self-employed owner of United Pest Control Company. As long as his health permitted, he attended Wendell Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, the late Jane Helms Orr on July 22, 2009.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon to 1:45 p.m.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Dr. Baxter Prevatte officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Industrial Drive, Wendell, NC
Surviving are his children: Leanne Phelps (Tim) of Wendell, Tracy Orr Jones of Wendell, Reginald Steven Orr (Ida) of Raleigh, and David Jeffrey Orr (Teri) of Raleigh; Grandchildren: Jeremy Phelps, Jennifer Galloway, April Orr Sussman, Baily Jones, and Krystal Orr; Great-Grandchildren: Raven, Makenna, Jaden, and Carter; Brother: Robert Bradley Orr of Huntersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

My condolences go to the family of Lee Orr. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a classmate at East Mecklenburg all those many years ago. Rest in peace, Lee!

I attended East Mecklenburg High School with Lee. He was a great person and a great athlete. Lee had suffered health issues for some time but now he is pain free.
He will missed all who knew him. Our prayers are with his family.
