Ginger Harlow Melton's "Uncle Don" has always been a favorite part of the family for our children and I. He was a genuinely good man, funny and giving; he would help anyone out in any way possible. He was generous with his time and his resources, and valued people above things. We'll miss him but he leaves a great example for his grandchildren. I hope that Evelyn, Denise and Karen will remember and pass on the many good and funny stories about this great guy, and so be comforted in their loss. May God rest his soul.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. I was a good friend and classmate at Red Hook High. We spent a lot of time together before I left for college and he went in the service. We had some good times - I mean really good times!! After viewing the online photos, I'm glad to see he still had that same smile (sometimes a little mischievous). I haven't seen Don since we graduated. I always hoped we'd get together one more time and was hoping that he would make it to our 50th High School reunion this past summer. I really regret that we never got together again to talk about the good times. It's also hard to believe that Donna is gone too. She was a close friend of my wife's (Beverly Samaha). Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Kip & Beverly Walsh, RHCS 1963, 18 Fox Hollow Rd, Valatie, NY 12184 (518 784 5502)
