Raleigh, North Carolina - Eleanor Vick Gay Lewis passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born on May 21,1935 in Nash County, North Carolina to the late William Penn Vick and Minnie Lee Lewis Vick. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Gay and Kevin Lewis; her son, Billy Wayne Gay; her sisters, Marie V. Denton, Ruth V. Ray, Rachel V. Andrews, and brother, Jessie D. Vick.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Gay Rouse (Gary), and Phyllis Gay Hardison. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Gayle Hopkins Gay and six grandchildren; Jennifer R. Hill (Josh), Jessica R. Martin (Luke), Jillian R. Richter (Robby), Amber G. Brantley (Eric), Britt Gay, and Jason Barnes as well as sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Free Will Baptist Children's Home, 7907 Buck Deans Road, Middlesex, NC 27557. Condolences: RFHR.com
