Emily E. Johnson Willis

April 26, 1919 - December 31, 2023

Durham, North Carolina - Emily Johnson Willis, age 104, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, with Duke Hospice at Hock Family Pavilion. She worked in Durham and retired with Wachovia as a bank teller. She loved God, church, birds, and cats. She was proud to live at Brookdale in Durham and was their oldest resident.

Her presence was loving and friendly. She brought light to all that crossed her path. A precious soul that touched lives with kindness and passion. She will be missed.

Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eva Johnson, and sisters, Susan and Ellen. She is survived by special cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at Maplewood Cemetery, 1621 Duke University Road, Durham, NC 27701.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Duke Hospice Care, or an animal shelter of your choice.
