Dear Jean and family, I was so saddened to read of Ernie's deathd. He was a fine scholar, a skilled teacher, and patient mentor to many. We shared an office in 1970 when I first started part-time teaching poli sci at WMU. I can say that that a beginning teacher couldn't have had a better guide to the university world. We later shared the writing of a book, the European Political Dictionary. I told him I'd do it if he'd give me his mother's pasta sauce recipe, It's still in my recipe box, part of many fine memories.

Dear Jean & family!
I cannot believe it has been almost 52 years since the first Crowley grandchild walked down Our Lady of Lourdes aisle and wed the man who completed her life.It brings back strong memories. Your wedding was the first so it will always remain vivid. It sounds like you and Ernie had full and beautiful years together. Sending you and your family condolences on the loss of this very accomplished professor, husband and father. May the memories of all the good times sustain you in your sorrow.

Cathy, the obitutary for your dad tells the story of a really neat guy that I wished I'd had the priviledge of knowing. It must have been a joy to be raised by him. I hope memories of joy carry you through your grief. You and your family are in my prayers.
