Ester Yates Obituary
WAKE FOREST
Ester Redd Yates, age 75, of Wake Forest, passed away June 16, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Hurley Ben Redd and Mattie Bagley Redd. She loved her family especially her husband, children and she always gave a little extra love to her grandkids. Family meant a lot and she could often be found in the kitchen cooking meals or taking lots of photos of them. Mrs. Yates was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday morning, June 19, 2017 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
Mrs. Yates is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Oscar Yates; daughter, Karen Yates of Wake Forest; son, Louis Yates of Newton; granddaughter, April Nicole Yates of White Lake; brother, Rodley Redd & wife Cindy of Raleigh; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Mercer; son Donald Yates and also four brothers.
Friends may visit with the family from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday evening, June 18, 2017 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC. (919)556-7400

ester, Im just sitting here thinking about you and how much I wish you were here still but you are in glory with your lord and savior Jesus Christ now. No more pain or sorrows or tears! You were my dear sweet friend from flextronics and was a shoulder to cry on when family problems happened in my life. You opened up your home to me and my children when we lost ours. You were my absolute earth angel god put in front of me and I will never forget you! I know the pain was great on you upon the death of your sweet Kevin. But u are with him now. Looking forward to that precious day when god calls me home and I will see u again
