January 13, 1941 - July 12, 2021
Raleigh, North Carolina - Florian "Chuck" Hovaniec, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021. He was born January 13, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Florian Hovaniec and Helen Wild Hovaniec. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force from 1959-1964, achieving the rank of Airman First Class. Chuck retired from IBM as a Project Manager with 40 years of service and was a faithful member of Hephzibah Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Corbett Howell Hovaniec; children: Douglas Christian Hovaniec (Shelley), Lynelle Amy Clark (Howard), Samantha Jean Hovaniec, Valerie Bloodworth (Michael); Kimberly Sue Howell; grandchildren: Jake, Annette, Rose, Billy, Bryan, Nicole; brother, Lester Hovaniec; sister, Patricia Creighton.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church Missions Fund.
