Forrest Steele Obituary

Forrest Steele, Sr., 100 years of age, March 12, 2009 in Cary.
Born July 5, 1908 in Brookville, PA. Graduated from Penn State University with B.S., M.S. in Soil Science.
After a long career with the Soil Conservation Service, retired in 1970 and joined the Food and Agricultural Organization assisting soil conservation and land management agencies in Korea and Thailand for several years.
He then returned to Raleigh where he was a long-time member at White Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Forrest Steele, Jr. of Lake Placid, FL, and David Steele of Winston-Salem, and three granddaughters, Sandra Emery and Sarah Slayton of Charlotte and Carol Goodnight of Hillsborough, and nine great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Anna S. McLeod, predeceased him in 2005.
Memorial service will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenaire, 4000 Glenaire Circle, Cary.
