I was stationed at Cherry Point NC as a Navy Corpsman in the mid 1970's and as an avid sportsman, I never missed an episode of Southern Sportsman. I always enjoyed all his recipes.

I cannot count the episodes of Southern Sportsman that I watched over the years. I never met Franc in person but feel as if I've lost a dear friend. Rarely have I ever gone afield that I don't hear his voice in my head.

I met Franc when he was a sports anchor for WSOC-TV in Charlotte. I was a production assistant in the news department in March, 1969. Franc did a good job hosting "The Southern Sportsman".
