Cary
Genelle Marie Peterson Zeugner, 94, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2017 after a brief illness. Formerly of Asheville, she lived her final years in Cary with her beloved husband of 71 years, Harold H. "Zeugie" Zeugner, who predeceased her by 27 days.
She is survived by a brother, Jack Peterson of Green Valley, AZ; children Michael Zeugner of Sebastian, Fla., Jennye Zeugner Johnson of Charlottesville, Va., and Joel "Jody" Zeugner of Cary; and grandchildren Chad Zeugner of Sebastian, Fla., Abby Zeugner of Cary, and Steven Zeugner of Washington, D.C. and Veronica Zeugner of Richmond, Va., both formerly of Cary.
A joint memorial for Zeugie and Genelle will be held in Asheville within the next few weeks, details to be posted at www.wakefuneral.com, where Zeugie's obituary also can be found. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org) or SECU Hospice House - Johnston Health Foundation of Smithfield, NC.
