Gloria Harrison Obituary
June 1, 1950 - March 23, 2023
Raleigh, North Carolina - Gloria was a curious and exemplary autodidact. An avid reader and music lover, she wrote fiction and poetry.
She transformed her traumatic childhood into advocacy for those with mental illness. She contributed over 20 years of service to NAMI NC in Raleigh.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlena; her second husband of nearly 50 years, Tom; three stepchildren, David, Dena and Tim; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three of six half siblings, Barbara, Rusty and Joyce.
An informal wake will be held 6/1/2023, 5-9 pm at the Elks Lodge (#197) in Roanoke, VA to celebrate her birthday. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the 501(c)(3) Crow House, Inc.
