Gregory Shoulders Obituary

Mr. Gregory Lamont Shoulders, 28, a resident of 176 Limertown Rd., died Monday from injuries received in an auto accident. He was the son of George Shoulders and Edna Dulaney Shoulders. He was law enforcement officer with the City of Durham Police Department.
He received his early education in the Wilcox County School systemin Camden, AL and graduated from Wilcox High School in 1992. In 1998 he received a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from Still man College in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Chi chapter, and many other clubs and organizations. He was the recipient of several awards from the Durham Police Department: Law Enforcement Driver's Training Award Most Improved Physical Fitness Award, and multiple "Officer of the Month" awards.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Street Baptist Church in Henderson by Rev. Chad Armstrong. A service will also be heldTuesday in Camden, AL with burial in Dulaney Cemetery.
Mr. Shoulders is survived by a wife, Mrs. Erica Staine Shoulders; an infant son, Gregory L. Shoulders, Jr.; a mother, Mrs. Edna Dulaney Shoulders, Camden, AL; a father, Mr. George Shoulders,Decatur, AL; one sister, Ms. Laura Shoulders, Camden, AL; one brother, Mr. Marvin Shoulders, Joiet, IL; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Dannie Mae Dulaney, Camden, AL; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mrs. Florence Staine and Mr. Errol Staine of Chicago, IL; a sister-in-law, Ms. Estelle Staine, Dayton, OH; a brother-in-law, Mr. Eric Staine, Chicago, IL.
The family will receive visitors Friday from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home of Henderson.
