Apex

Herbert Chu, of Hong Kong, born on February 3, 1948 in Peking, China, to the late Jane Fu and the late Peter Chu, passed away at age 70 on June 12, 2018 in Apex, North Carolina. Herbert served in the Navy from 1972 to 1974 and he also worked in the Construction industry as a general contractor at S & J of Raleigh until he retired in 2017. Herbert was the loving partner of Sue Marcinko. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wellington Chu and James Chu. Herbert is survived by his daughters, Lillian Kohli and spouse Eric, Olivia Berger and spouse Greg, and Bailey Chu and spouse DJ; brothers, Paul Chu and spouse Cindy and David Chu and spouse; sister, Grace Chu and spouse Chuck; sister-in-law, Candy Chu; grandchildren, Ainsley Kohli, Will Kohli, and Gabby Kohli; and friends, Greg Morse and Melanie Rhoads. Those who wish may donate in Herbert's name to Transitions HospiceCare of Wake County and the American Heart Association. A celebration of life will be private.
