Herbert Manning Obituary
Kinston
Herbert Leslie Manning, 93, died Dec. 15, 2016, at his Kinston home. Raised in Martin County, NC, he attended Campbell College and NC State University. He was a buyer and supervisor with Austin Carolina Tobacco Co. and was a WW2 wartime veteran. He is survived by his wife, Clara Fenner Manning of Kinston; son Herbert L. Manning, Jr. (Paige) of Wellesley, MA; daughter Molly Garnett (David) of Denver, NC; grandchildren Margot and Drew Manning of Wellesley, MA, Nathan Garnett (Jennifer) of Mills River, NC, and Sam Garnett (Kelly) of Tampa; and sisters Margaret Hardison and Melba Hardison (Earl) of Williamston NC. His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at First Presbyterian Church, Kinston with burial on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Tice Cemetery, Martin County.
Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Carter joins me in expressing our heartfelt sadness in the passing of Herbert! We always enjoyed seeing them and catching up when they would make their yearly trek to our office to get their tax returns done! We will be hosting our Staff Christmas luncheon tomorrow, so unfortunately we will not get to see all of you at Herbert's service. Please know that we care and that we are thinking of you at this time!
