Herbert Thomlinson Obituary

Herbert N. Thomlinson, of 804 S. State Street, died suddenly on Monday, October 17th. He was the son of the late Hubert and Clevie Thomlinson. Herbert was a very devoted family man who loved to talk to everyone. He was fun spirited, a loving husband, and a devoted father, grandfather and friend. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for Southern States Imports (formerly Harmon Volkswagon) for 40 years. He attended Washington High and J.W. Ligon High Schools. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 12-noon Saturday, October 22, 2005 at First Cosmopolitan Baptist Church. Visitation will precede the service at the church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of49 years, Nannie Thomlinson; daughters, Lorraine Jacobs and Annette Thomlinson; son, Kenneth Thomlinson; grandsons, Henry Jacobs, Jr. and Justin Jacobs; brother, Hubert "Huboy" Thomlinson, Jr.; nieces, Wanda Bracey and Delores McClain; special aunts, uncle, Willie Hinton; a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Thomlinson, and son-in-law, Henry Jacobs, Sr.
Members of Thomlinson and Jacobs families are grateful for for all acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy extended for the passing of our loved one. A special thanks to our family, friends and church family for their support.
