Hester C. Beal
Sanford
Hester C. Beal, age 91 of Sanford, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Parkview Retirement Center.
Mr. Beal was born January 13, 1921, in Chatham County to the late N.C. and Fleta Brewer Beal. He served in the U.S. Marines fighting in the Pacific during World War II. He was a charter member of Stanley McLeod VFW Post, American Legion, a faithful member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, and a partner with N.C. Beal & Sons, Inc. of Sanford.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Burke Beal; brothers Cone Beal and wife Mavis Beal; Edison Beal and wife Ruby Beal.
Survivors included nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law Elizabeth Burke Horton of Zebulon, N.C.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Gelsthorpe officiating. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Cemetery.
The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff of Parkview Retirement Center for their compassionate care of Hester.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church, 1735 Fall Creek Church Rd. Bennett, N.C. 27208; or charity of choice.
