Jean Wiley Obituary

Jean Swartz Wiley, 86, of Raleigh, died Thursday, November 9, 2000. Mrs. Wiley graduated from Union College in Kentucky and was a Science and English Junior High Teacher in Endicott, NY. She married James ""Jim"" Freeman Wileyon August 28, 1939. She later acquired her family business, Spencer-Swartz Furniture Store in Endicott, NY, which she operated for 27 years. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley moved to Raleigh in 1979. They were members of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church and shewas a member of the Fallon Park Garden Club.
Mrs. Wiley is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim; nephew, Dr. James F. Wiley, II (Dr. Catherine) of Glastonbury, CT; nieces, Rev. Anella McFee (Dr. William) of West LaFayette, IN, Belinda W. Wiley of Stanford, CT, and Priscilla Brooks (James) of Charlotte, NC; great-nieces and nephews, James F. Wiley, III, Patrick C. Wiley, Elizabeth A. Wiley, Patricia (Brian) Pettet, Sabra (Dr. Brian) Peterson, Tom McFee, Jonathan Brooks, and Charles Daniel McFall, III; brother-in-law, E.B. Wiley Jr. of Tucson, AZ, and other extended family.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 12th from 2-4 p.m. at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community - South Village.
Memorial services will be scheduled for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County - 1300 St. Mary' St.,Raleigh, NC 27605.
Arrangements with Mitchell Funeral Home - St. Mary's Street.
