John Grant Obituary

Reverend John Albert Grant
May 22, 1928 - September 6, 2011
Indian Trail
Reverend John A. Grant, a former pastor of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early hours of Tuesday, September 6, 2011 surrounded by his wife of 63 years, Lois Riggins Grant and son, John Gary Grant. At that moment, he met face-to-face the God to whom he had dedicated his life at a young age and had served faithfully for several decades, both as a pastor and in his early retirement years as a hospital chaplain.
In addition to his wife and son, Rev. Grant is also survived by his 3 loving grandchildren whom he absolutely adored: Andrew "Drew" John Grant, Walker Moore Grant, Sara Catherine Grant and their mother, Mitzi Moore Grant.
He leaves a legacy of kindness, humility, honesty, importance of family, a "straight shooter, my word is my bond, deal on a handshake, what you see is what you get" gentleman, and most important of all a visible example of a Christ-like life.
"Well done, my good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23

Our love and prayers to your dear family. Pastor Grant was a true man of God as he led Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church. I remember the first Sunday he was there he told me he would probably visit me in the hospital soon and in a few days our daughter, Lori, was born and he came to visit. May your precious memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. Lonnie & Becky Maye
