The world was a better place due to the life that Johnny Farmer lived. Having a beach home at Ocean city, North Topsail Beach, North Carolina, I had the opportunity to meet many people of color from all over North |Carolina and surrounding states. Johnny Farmer exemplified the best of humanity. He loved children and people. Although highly intelligent, he still had the ability to identify with the common man. I know that he is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ in Heaven, and praying for his family and friends who still reside in their temporary home, planet earth. We thank God for all the good things that He has done for us. Minister, Amos T. Mills, III

Mr. Farmer and I were beach residents at Ocean City Beach, North Topsail Beach for many years. During that time I was elected President of the Ocean city Beach Homeowners Association while Mr. Farmer served as Treasurer. Mr. Famer served his position dutifully and his character was always beyond reproach. Though the organization had some financial difficulties through Mr. Farmer's expertise the organization progressed. Mr. Farmer had a demeanor about him that demanded respect from all races of people. Though he is no longer with us on earth physically, the love that he has for his wife, family friends and community will last throughout eternity. We thank God for the life that Johnny Farmer was allowed to live on earth. Amos T. Mills, III, Esquire, Apex, North Carolina.

So sorry to hear about his passing. He was my principal at Athens, 1980-83. We need more like him today - he could relate to the students, was respected, but you knew he meant business.
