Keith Frederick "Kip" Larson, II

Keith Frederick Larson II, lovingly nicknamed "Kip," passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home in Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Anne Elizabeth Larson, daughter Evelyn Sophia Larson and son Benjamin Frederick Larson; his parents, Keith and Mary Ann Larson; his brothers, Kristopher Larson and Andrew Larson, and nephew Malachi Larson; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Reitmeyer Larson; and countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Kip spent his childhood and young adulthood in Raleigh, NC. He graduated from Enloe High School in 1992, and attended NC State University and UNC Wilmington. Besides his deep love and devotion to his family, his other passion was his music. An endless melody emanated from his soul. From an early age he began playing and performing. In his early 20's he traveled throughout the country performing with his band, Regraped, and eventually graduated into producing and recording music. Through this love, Kip forged lifelong friendships with many fellow musicians. He leaves a legacy of his music to his family, friends, and fans. Kip loved everything about nature. He enjoyed camping with his family and fishing with his children, activities his father taught him to love as a child. After seeing Star Wars at age 5, he became a lifelong fan. He filled his home, and later his office, with memorabilia from the trilogy, including many intricate models he delicately crafted. A passion for computers paved the way for a career that utilized his technical skills, keen business sense, and an inherited prowess for sales. In 2014, Kip proudly founded, owned, and operated Corellian Software in Portland, Oregon. Kip's sense of humor, intellect, and many talents will be sorely missed. Family and friends will forever be grateful for his presence in their lives. A "Celebration of Life" service was held at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home on March 8, 2016.
