Judy,
Hi! I´m Susan Foy Spratling, your second cousin once removed on the O´Rear side. My mother Emma Lucretia O´Rear (Mrs. James Edgar Foy V) was first cousin of your mother Martha Ann.
I´m so sorry to learn of the passing of your husband and of your mother Martha Ann and father Bill. I never met your husband, I think, but of course Martha Ann O´Rear and Bill Wilkinson were well known to me, and often skied with my Uncle Caine and Aunt Kathryn O´Rear of Jasper, and with my father Dean James E. Foy of Auburn, AL. Your grandmother, my "Aunt O", conducted a preschool in one room of her home for kids not quite old enough to go into first grade, I think, and her students always excelled. One day when I was a young girl, she let me go into her class and teach the kids "Frere Jacque". I have never forgotten that. She often had the family in her home for holiday meals, and Uncle Judson always wanted a place at the kids´ tables because he enjoyed teasing us.
My address is 2320 Cahaba Road, Mountain Brook AL 35223-1102 and phone (205)616-2809. I would love to hear from you. Looks like you have quite a fine family built up there, which makes me so happy for Aunt O and Martha Ann.
Your cousin,
Susan

I did not have the pleasure of working with Kenan but did get to see him from time to time when he would stop by the office at Brock Contract Services. When I would ask him how he was doing he always replied with, "Better than I deserve", he'd smile and go into Paul's office. On his way out he would ask me how my favorite Men's basketball team was doing that year and no matter what, I would say "fantastic", he'd smile that smile and off he would go. I will miss those interactions and how he was always so positive and how he made a difference in so many people's lives. My condolences to his loved ones.
