Three years on and I still miss Kord and his goofy laugh. He was a good person who understood kindness. We have Bacon and Bug because of Kord and they give back his love. Rest in peace my friend. Lee Graves and family.

Two years has gone by and we still think about Kord a lot. One important thing I learned from him was to always be kind to others. I was thinking- how would Kord have responded to this Covid-19 pandemic? I am sure he would be out there helping people out, delivering meals, giving money to the homeless etc. He would have done this even if there was a risk to himself. I hope that everyone remembers this- something that Kord could teach us all. Lee Graves and family

One year later- I am remembering all the good times we had with Kord. The trip to California, to Cape Cod and the time he helped me dig a water main (not so much fun). Kord had a way of making us smile. However, the most important thing I learned from him was to remember to be kind to everyone, especially the down-trodden or those in need. He inspired us to support Kidznotes- which is now one of our favorite charities. I wish we could have had him here with us longer, but that is not a choice life gives us. Our family will always remember him and the joy he brought to our lives. We love and miss him very much. Lee, Lori, Anna and Hallie Graves

Dear Danette, Kurt, Andrew and Family: We just learned belatedly of Kord's passing. It fills us with sadness and it also triggers many happy memories of Kord when he was a boy. He was like a fire fly of life and light. We hope that when the sadness of his passing subsides, you will be filled with many happy and loving memories of a wonderful boy, who we read grew into a fine and loving young man! We hold Kord and all of you in our hearts and prayers. Chris Bogan and Mary Jo Barnett

To Danette, Kurt, and family,
We will so very much miss Kord. During these past 4 years, we embraced Kord as part of our family. He showed Anna what TRUE love meant and we know they had a relationship of sincere caring for one another. We had so many wonderful times with Kord. We smile when we think about his laughter, spontaneous jokes, and fun-loving nature. We cry when we acknowledge we will no longer be able to hug him and talk with him about anything and everything under the sun. Our lives are better because of the times we had with him.
Love, Lori & Lee Graves family

Although we only met a few times, we were struck at how warm, friendly and genuine Kord was. His hug would knock you back a little-he wasn't afraid to show his heart on his sleeve. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

We met Kord at our niece's Chapel Hill graduation a few years back, and he gave me a huge hug thinking I was my twin sister, Lori (Anna's Mom). His polite exclamation of surprise, followed by a huge laugh, we will never forget - such a genuinely sweet guy. Kord was a good soul and full of love and energy. The world will miss him, and we are so saddened by your loss. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Lisa & Dan Barr

Danette, Kurt & family,
So so sorry for your loss. I was so pleased to meet Kord at Auntie Terry's 90th birthday celebration. Such a nice young man with so much potential! I am sure you are very proud of him. In going through pictures for Judy's funeral, I ran across the photo of Kord's christening-so much hope & promise for the future, & in our family so many losses before & since then. My wish for you is strength & trust in God's plan. I have no doubt there is life after this physical one.
Love & God's blessings,
Cousin Susan

I will miss Kord's wonderful outgoing and genuine personality. He had a huge heart and a unique ability to make friends with anyone. I will miss his smile, his strong handshake and hugs. I will miss having coffee with him and just talking about things. I will miss the beers shared- all the good times we had together. Kord should be remembered for the positive energy he brought to this world, the people that he loved and the people that loved him. I will miss him greatly.
