Lori Privette Obituary
Staff Sgt. Lori Anne Privette, 27, of 13983 NC Hwy. 96, a US Marine died in a helicopter crash at Camp Pendleton, Calif. during a training flight on Thursday afternoon. Lori was a 1994 graduate of Selma-Smithfield High School.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Lori will be buried with a full military funeral in San Diego next to her husband, R.J. Petty, a Marine who died of cancer just days after they were married.
She is survived by her parents, Bobby Lee Privette, Sr. and Dawn Privette of Zebulon; brothers and sister, Bobby Lee Privette, Jr. of Newport News, VA, Crystal Langdon of ECU, and Shelton Langdon of Angier.
Lori's family will be planting a memorial garden at her home in Zebulon. Those who desire are encouraged to bring flower bulbs or flower seeds which will grow in Lori's garden to honor her memory.
