Louis Driver Obituary

Louis Franklin Driver, 85, of Middlesex, died Sunday evening, March 26, 2006. After one month of being diagnosed with cancer, he died at home surrounded by his family and friends. Louis was born in Nash County on July 15, 1920 to the late Jesse Dewey Driver and Betty Lewis Driver. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning 5 Silver Stars and a Bronze Star. Louis was a local businessman, owning and operating Driver's Strawberry Farm. He served as a Town Commissioner on the Middlesex TownBoard, was an active member of the Mount Pleasant VFW and was a faithful member and Deacon of Lee's Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral service 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church, with Reverend Ricky Anderson and ReverendSteve McCart officiating. Entombment, Lee's Chapel Baptist church cemetery.
Surviving: wife, Allene Ellis Driver; sons, Philip Driver and his wife, Stephanie of Raleigh, Robbie Driver of Raleigh, Don Driver and his wife, Becky of Zebulon; grandchildren, Courtney, Jaime, Brittney, Madison, Lindsay, Matthew and Christopher; sisters, Naomi Johnson, Jacqueline Murray; brothers, J. D. Driver, Jr., Harold Driver, Glenn Driver.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other timesat the home.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Lee's Chapel Baptist Church, 14551 Taylors Mill Road, Middlesex, NC 27557.
