Louis Luempert Obituary
January 30, 1947 - May 20, 2024
Greensboro, North Carolina - Dr. Louis George Luempert, III; born January 30th, 1947 in Cleveland Ohio, a husband, father, pop-pop, fly fisherman and nature enthusiast passed away May 20th, 2024 after an evening filled with what he loved the most, family and grandchildren.
Louis completed his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University and went on to earn three doctorates at North Carolina State University where he met his wife Lorene (Gregory). The two of them moved several times before returning to North Carolina with a son (Louis George Luempert, IV) in tow. A daughter was welcomed into the world (Laura Gene Luempert), and they raised both kids in North Carolina for the rest of his life. Two of Louis' favorite humans would be brought into the world as Louis (IV) married Jennifer Adkins, and the two welcomed Vienna and Evelyn, who became the front runners for Louis' (III) favorite people.
Outside of the people, his many friends and family, Louis loved fly fishing and Ohio State football. If the weather was nice out, or if it wasn't too bad out, Louis would take advantage of North Carolinas streams and head to the mountains to fish.
Thank you to all of his friends and family throughout the years for the love and support you gave to him. Louis will be remembered and celebrated forever by family and friends.
A celebration of life will take place in Ohio with family, and a celebration of life for family in North Carolina will be held at a later date.

Louis was so much fun to work with at Novartis. We did have our football rivalry as my husband was from Michigan and we were wolverines fans. We had friendly competition when the two teams played. Louis hired me in 2011 to work at Novartis Animal Health. He taught me a lot about vaccine studies and I shared my knowledge about SAS coding. We became very good friends over the years, going often to lunch together. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. God Bless him. May dear Louis Rest in Peace. My God cover his family with peace.
