Cary, North Carolina - Michael Norton Blewett, Sr, aged 88, passed away at home in Cary, NC, on July 14, 2025. Mr. Blewett was a third-generation Californian, born on May 24, 1937, in Los Angeles. He was a graduate of Dorsey High School (Class of 1955) and the University of Southern California (1958/1986). During his time at USC, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and contributed to the 1958 College World Series Championship Baseball team. Known for his sociable nature and collaborative spirit, Mr. Blewett enjoyed a distinguished career in sales and marketing, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laura Hancock Blewett; his children, Diane Blewett Burger (Kurt Burger) and Mike Blewett, Jr. (Melani Timmons); and three granddaughters, Christine Burger, Katie Burger (Bryan Gilliam), and Janie Blewett, all residing in Cary and Apex, NC. Mr. Blewett was predeceased by his parents, William F. Blewett, Sr. and Helene Norton Blewett, as well as his elder brother, William F. Blewett, Jr., all of Los Angeles, CA. A private family memorial service will be held.
