So sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. Several years ago while taking my parents to an eye appt in Raleigh, I ran into Mike. Having not seen him in years, I knew there was something very familiar with his face! Of course, he and I were Gupton cousins. We chatted like old friends/cousins and took our picture together. I remained in the Wood community where his parents were born. Praying for peace and comfort for the Gupton family. Kim Gupton Stewart

My family and I are heartbroken to learn of Mike's passing. What a beautiful soul he was, and such a caring neighbor. My children often tell the story of "that time Mike killed the copperhead in our yard"--a heroic endeavor in which he selflessly saved the day! He will be missed dearly.
