January 3, 1942--January 4, 2026
Jamie Lois Anderson Gupton, age 84, long-time former resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late Mr. Robert Thomas "Tommy" Gupton, departed this life Sunday morning, January 4, 2026, at The Gardens at ViewPointe, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jamie was born January 3, 1942, in Russellville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William Pleasant Anderson and Gertrude Massey Anderson. She was married March 24, 1961, almost 60 years, to Robert Thomas "Tommy" Gupton. Jamie showed her love through cooking and baking where every meal was an event, with some of the best Southern style cooking one could eat. Jamie's favorite hobbies were working in her flower garden and bargain shopping; she loved to share all of the varieties of flowers she owned with others, having over 100 feet of lily beds; when it came to bargain shopping, she gave true meaning to "shop til you drop", literally passing out one time while shopping. Jamie was respected for her hardworking spirit, she could outwork anyone, dusk until dawn.
Mrs. Jamie Gupton is survived by her son, Robert E. Gupton and his wife, Barbara of McKinney, TX; two daughters, Rhonda Cochran and her husband, Van of Rossville, TN and Donna Cline and her husband, Joey of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, Walter Joseph "Joe" Cline IV, Caleb Atwood, Jamie Goraczkowski, Gretchen Evans, Hilliary Tabone, Robert "Ben" Gupton and Beatrice Reeder; six great-grandchildren, Levi Goraczkowski, Liam Atwood, Hazel Tabone, Beau Gupton, Hampton Tabone and Brody Reeder; and one sister, Sallie Dickey of Lafayette, TN. In addition to her parents, Jamie was preceded in death by three sisters, Christine McKinney and her husband, Bennie of Lewisburg, KY, Sarah Dillihay and her husband, Johnny of Franklin, KY, and Bettie Criswell and her husband, Bill of Hopkinsville, KY; one brother, Clyde Anderson and his wife, Sue of Russellville, KY; and her grandson, James Lee Atwood, Jr.
