Mozelle Carroll Obituary

On July 27, 2011 Mozelle Hilliard Carroll went to be with her Saviour. She died peacefully with her family by her side at Hospice of Wake County. Mrs. Carroll was born on January 20, 1933 in Harnett County to Dewitt and Pauline Prince Hilliard. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Russell K. Carroll Sr. and brother, Garland Hilliard. She is survived by her children: Donna Watkins and husband Ardie; Connie Carroll; and Rusty Carroll and wife Kelley, all of Apex; grandchildren: Allison Putman and husband Lindsay, Jennifer Watkins, Abbie Carroll, and Travis Carroll; great grandson James Wray Putman whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister Peggie Wilkes and sister-in-law Priscilla Hilliard of Fuquay-Varina and brother-in-law Billy Carroll and wife Doris of Willow Spring; sisters-in-law Edna Hyde of Nashville, NC and Maxine Womack of Raleigh; and brother-in-law Harold Carroll and wife Bobbie of Orangeburg, SC and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to her caregivers Meredith Ryals and Pat Winston. Also, to all the staff of Hospice for their continued support during this time. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Williford Funeral Home, 201 East Academy St, Fuquay-Varina, NC and at other times at the home of Connie Carroll, 8524 Bells Lake Rd., Apex. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fuquay-Varina with burial to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Wake Christian Academy, 5500 Wake Academy Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603 or to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

We know it's been difficult to say goodbye to Dad and now Mom- but we know their reunion was sweet. What a joy to think of them strolling the streets of gold- no pain, no sorrows, and no illness. Praying God's comfort and grace to all of the Carroll family during this time- you each have touched our lives in a special way over the years- know that you are loved and prayed for!
