Paul Reynolds Obituary

Paul D. "P.D." Reynolds, Jr. 80, formerly of 327 West Main Street, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, December 10, 2005 in the Danville Regional Medical Center after a valiant decade long struggle with Parkinson's.
He was born in Danville, VA. on July 2, 1925, a son of the late Paul D. Reynolds, Sr. and Elizabeth Lewis Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds was a 1947 graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he majored in physics and played tight end on the football team. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
P.D. was fortunate to have enjoyed two careers during his lifetime. He was first in the furniture business, and later in the financial services industry where he retired in 1995 from J.C. Bradford and Company.
Mr. Reynolds was a lifelong member of West Main Baptist Church. P.D. was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Charlotte Tanner Reynolds, who died June 16, 1997.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Maynard L. Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by two sons, Paul D. Reynolds,III and his wife, Lynn of Raleigh, N.C. and David S. Reynolds and his wife, Mitzi of Richmond, VA.; a daughter, Paula R. Haynes and her husband, Mike of Danville; three grandchildren, Paul D. Reynolds, IV, Mary Margaret Miller Reynolds and Mimi Smith Reynolds; a brother, Rufus W. Reynolds of Danville and a sister, Phyllis R. Wooden of Providence, N.C.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery by the Rev. Bruce Wilson.
The family request that memorials may be sent to West Main Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 450 West Main Street, Danville, VA. 24541.
Funeral arrangements are by Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street.
