Cary
Rachel Bebb Vidrine of Cary, NC, passed away on December 24, 2018. Born in Clarksville, TN, Rachel was the daughter of the late Dr. James Gary Vidrine and Lily Vidrine of Spartanburg, SC. She is survived by her brother, Lloyd Vidrine and his wife, Thuy, of Spartanburg, SC; her niece, Anna and nephew, Bryce.
Rachel graduated from USC Upstate and received her Master in Library and Information Science from USC. She was a librarian at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC. Rachel was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She adored her niece and nephew and loved her cats, Callie and Polly. She enjoyed creating home and craft projects, running, and traveling. Rachel also loved the English language, which she demonstrated by founding a grammar web site which now receives over 7,000 visitors a month. Special thanks to her dear friend Gary Franks, her neighbors Larry and Carol Barrett and their daughter Holly, and family friend Clare Grimm. Also, thanks to her many friends, especially her library friends at Wake Technical Community College. There will be no funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Rachel may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society (www.spartanburghumane.org), 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or a tree memorial at Partners for Active Living (www.active-living.org), 226 South Spring Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.

Rachel and I worked together for some years at WTCC; I would pass by her office in the library as I was walking to the Writing Center. We often took the time to chat, and I always found her to be sweet, kind, generous, and loving. I am still shocked by her passing and send my sincerest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
