Richard Covington Obituary

Richard Columbus Covington, 69, of Bedford, VA and formerly of Cary, NC died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his residence.
Born November 5, 1940 in Waynesville, NC, a son of the late Alice Blanche White Covington and Howard Columbus Covington.
Richard was a graduate of West Carolina University and a healthcare consultant. He was a member of NC State Association of Healthcare Professions. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting firearms but most of all he loved his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jo Holloway Covington.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori Covington Sorensen and her husband, Donald of Wilmington, NC and Francy Allison Mann and her husband, Steve of Willow Spring, NC; grandson, Zeb Mann of Willow Spring, NC; a sister, Carolyn Covington Hunter and husband, Bill of Memphis, TN; and an aunt, Bonnie Sutton of Waynesville, NC.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Tharp Funeral chapel. Burial will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park, Waynesville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the residence.
