Robert C. Cady

Robert Clark Cady, 92, died peacefully at The Carolina House December 3, 2007.
Bob, a former resident of Annapolis, MD, was born in Mason, MI on June 7, 1915.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Clare Cady; son, Allen and daughter-in- law, Kathleen; daughter, Leslie Kelly and son-in-law, Kevin Kelly; four grandchildren, Carly Dechene, Madelyn Cady, Alex Kelly and Sam Kelly; brothers, Claude and Bernard Cady both of Mason, MI.
Bob served for 36 years in the U.S. Navy as a musician aboard the ships USS Lexington, USS Yorktown CV5 at the Battle of Midway, USS Juneau, USS Toledo, USS Rochester, USS Los Angeles, USS Hancock, USS Oriskany, and USS Yorktown CV10 and as a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Band from 1956 until his retirement in 1973. Bob continued to play trumpet in dance and concert bands in the Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington DC area, including lead trumpeter with the Carl Hamilton Orchestra, and in the trumpet section of the Chesapeake Greys and Bay Winds Orchestra and in community bands after moving to Cary, NC in 2002.
His ashes will be returned to his place of birth in Mason, MI.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Duke Home Care and Hospice in Durham, NC.
