Ruth Parrish Obituary

Ruth Stancil Riggs Parrish, 92, of Raleigh, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 10, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burrus Riggs and Howard Parrish, parents, Moses Stancil and Addie L. Stancil Parrish; a brother, Edward Stancil; and a sister, Rebecca Parrish.
Surviving are her sons, Aubrey Riggs and his wife, Sandra of Hubert, NC, Lester Riggs and his wife, Barbara of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Kevin Riggs of Hubert, Todd Riggs of Raleigh, Greg Scott and wife, Lynn of Raleigh; granddaughters, Lisa Donofrio, and husband, John of Raleigh, Angie Scott of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren, Mari Katherene and Allison Donofrio, Eddy Marie Scott, Tabor Scott of Raleigh; two sisters, Mae Bell Williams of Coats, NC, and Wilma Johnson and husband, Arthur of Falcon, NC.
Her father was a Civil War Veteran and a mason, and she was a certified member of the real Daughters of the Confederacy.
Ruth served her Lord in many capacities in several Missionary Baptist Churches during her lifetime. She was a faithful wife, loving mother and a friend to all she knew. She was a member of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member and first director of the Senior Citizens Center in Coats.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel, Coats, NC, with the Rev. Tom Austin officiating. A 3:30 p.m. graveside service and burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville, NC with the Rev. William R. Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service in Coats.
A special thanks to all the staff at Universal Health Care in Raleigh and to Duke Hospice for their love and care. Donations or memorials may be made to Coats Baptist Church building fund or the church or charity of ones choice.
The Parrish Family is being served by the Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC.
